June 26th 2010 – my 365 – Bouquet at the RBG
I had the pleasure to shoot with Andrea from AC Images again today. We shot an awesome couple. These guys, their family and friends really made us feel special as they welcomed us all day long. Here’s a sneak peak at their bouquet:
June 25th 2010 – my 365 – Desiree Graduated
A father only gets to say this a few times in his life: My Daughter Graduated today. Today was from J/K. She is so awesome. She was only 3 when she got into school and has progressed amazingly.
June 23rd 2010 – my 365 – argh my basement
Oh no…water. Well, they’re going to fix it from the outside. Stay tuned for a picture of them trenching the side of the house.
June 22nd 2010 – my 365 – Cohiba
Ahhh, one of my last Cohibas from Cuba last year. I didn’t smoke it, but just wanted to remember how great these are when they’re fresh.
June 21st 2010 – my 365 – Desiree’s Burger dilemma
She had 2 smiley face fries on one half and a burger and one smiley face fry on the other. Her plight was trying to get the two halves together to make one giant burger. She just couldn’t get it to work even though she tried for about 5 minutes.
June 20th 2010 – my 365 – Water’s Day for Father’s Day
Got to just hang out and do nothing today. No packing or cleaning. Just Loafing around the house. We went to Valley Ridge Park to play at the splash pad, it’s awesome, but don’t go there! Because now that I say that, everyone is gonna go there just to hang out with me. lol. I’m kidding. It’s a great place and it’s free. In the afternoon, we played in the backyard with our new little pools. Followed by a nice steak dinner and bedtime.
June 19th 2010 – my 365 – Smoked Ribs and Beer Can Chicken
Ahhh…it’s like Father’s Day came early this year. First Denmark won their game today, then I got to smoke some ribs and make beer can chicken.
June 17th 2010 – my 365 – 2112 Sound of Music Festival Burlington
Hung out with my buddy Dave down at the Sound of Music festival in Burlington. Watched 2112 perform. I didn’t want to bring out the camera tonight, but I did recognize some of the faces behind some of the Nikons and Canons that were down there shooting.
June 16th 2010 – my 365 – Steak
A little more food-ography. We were making nachos tonight and added some leftover steak from Sunday night. I think some warming Gels on the flash next time will help make this look more succulent.
June 15th 2010 – my 365 – Going Banana’s
..or as Hayden says “I want Bana”. It’s so cute. One day I’ll try to get him on video saying it.

Just a fun shot tonight. No energy, I just wanna go watch tv and go to bed tonight.
June 13th 2010 – my 365 – St. Regis Alcohol Removed
Well, you’ve got to try everything once right? So we tried this wine that was given to us back at Christmas when my wife still had an allergy to alcohol. We cracked open the bottle and let it breathe. When we poured it into the glasses, it has the familiar smell of Cabernet. But the first sip wasn’t what you expected. It starts off tasting like an $8.00 bottle of wine, but then the aftertaste just wasn’t there. You were missing the tart taste of the alcohol or something. It just didn’t finish well. So about half a glass later, it was time to put that bottle to rest. We just couldn’t finish it.
June 12th 2010 – my 365 – Laura & Cam’s Stag/Doe Photobooth
A few months ago I donated a photography session to this awesome couple for their stag & doe. Then a few weeks ago, they called me again to ask if I’d be able to do a Photobooth for them at their party as the original team could not make it. So I jumped at the opportunity to shoot some crazy party shots. This is my favourite of the batch…also the most PG.
June 11th 2010 – my 365 – Scream for me Long Beach
I’m in an Iron Maiden mood today. I got the new single from the new album. It rocks!
So this is where my inspiration came from for this image. I tried this with just white flash and it didn’t work. I wanted the mask to glow. So I dug out one of my black & white filters for my camera and stuck it on top of the flash. It gave me this great green light.
June 10th 2010 – my 365 – Boxing day
Today was another crazy day of packing. We have most of the basement done. Luckily I have great friends who are going to help me move these into my new house.
June 9th 2010 – my 365 – Feeling Negative
We had a little water in our basement today after the rain storms. One of our boxes got wet and ruined some various stuff that we had in some boxes. In there I found some negatives from my underwater camera that we had in Cuba. The water can’t ruin these! Kind of Ironic isn’t it? That these were underwater photos…and now they were underwater Negatives?
no?
Maybe just me then…

Time to start packing for our move.

Almost time to pack away all our books and magazines. These ones caught my eye tonight.
June 3rd 2010 – my 365 – Painted Toes (Not mine)
This is what happens when you allow 3 girls (ages 5 & 9 twins) to paint your toe nails. Luckily it was Maloreigh’s toes and not mine. I couldn’t resist taking a picture of this masterpiece.
June 2nd 2010 – my 365 – Plan B Organic Farms
Today I received my first “share” of food from Plan B Organic Farm in Branchton, ON. We ordered the fruit share and a half veggie share. Here’s our order:
The Fruit share is everything to the left of the lettuce and asparagus. They included some apples in the vegetable share, which was cool. One thing I want you to understand is, you can’t think like you’re at …insert grocery store chain name here… you’re getting farm fresh foods. They don’t look perfect(well, almost). They look like real food taken from the soil. Not grown in perfection like most of the food you find at the grocery store. Some of the food sizes seem small, but remember, we are still at the very beginning of the season, almost nothing is growing yet. Also, you are buying into a true harvesting plan. If you buy this one time, you may be disappointed(not me though). You have to buy into the whole season to get the real value of this program. Your food will be bigger and the portions will be a little bigger as well.
I’m really impressed with what we got. The quality seems very high and I can’t wait to start eating some of the salads. I already had an apple and so did the kids. The pickup location was great too. It was someone’s house with a truck in their driveway. You sign your name to say you’ve receive your share and they give you a crate for your food. Next week, you bring the crate back and pick up your new share.
I’m giving these guys two thumbs up and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings.
